How to use this at home!

This is an example of a BLOG – This is short for WEB LOG (Online diary).

We can use it to add information, pictures and web links. What is different is that you can add comments to them!

When new posts are added they go to the top and so to start you need to remember to scroll down to the bottom and read the sections in the right order.

Good Luck trying this! Miss Salmon

Mexican Food tasting!

Look at the pictures below. It shows the Mexican feast we shared in class. It was great to see the children trying food that looked strange and different (Especially the refried beans!) and they all tasted a bit of everything! I must say the guacamole wasnt a favourite:

Talk with your children about what they ate and how it made them feel!

Have you cooked Mexican food at home?

Do you have any good recipes to share?

What do you think about your children trying new foods at school?

Post your comments as I would love to hear from you…

Sentences – Follow up work

We have been looking at how to write sentences in class. Can you remember our TOP TIPS on sentence writing and can you share these with parents and helpers…

Remember our focus has been writing exciting sentences about MEXICO using adjectives.

These websites have games and activities to help you practice!

This takes you to the BBC KS1 Bitesize – The activity is at 3 levels, choose the one that will challenge you! the boy sees some jumbled words and you have to put them in order:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks1bitesize/literacy/sentences/index.shtml

BBC Starship – Penguins on ice! This one is fun – it works in the same way with words you have to order into a sentence:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/starship/english/games/penguins_on_ice/small_no_sound/standard2.shtml

This one will make you smile! a chance to write some silly sentences – Have a go, which is the silliest one you can find?

http://pbskids.org/readingrainbow/games/silly_sentence.html

You can challenge each other with this one – Molly the alien asks you to write a sentence, she then mixes it up! Can you put it back in the right order?

In the comments try writing some sentences to share with the rest of our class…
